A small armoury with a measuring habit
It started with one sword bought blind that turned out to be nothing like its description. We decided it could be done more honestly.
Swords Vault is a shop, not a forge. Our job is selection: we order samples, weigh and measure them, and keep the ones that hold the numbers their makers claim. That is why the range is short and will stay short.
We describe what we measured, including the awkward parts: a display replica is not sparring equipment, and carbon steel will rust if you ignore it. After something we do not stock? Write to us — sourcing a single piece to order is ordinary work here.

Inspection
Six things we check before shipping
Blade geometry
Straightness in two planes. Bent more than 2 mm over a metre and it goes back to the supplier.
Point of balance
Measured from the guard and written into the listing. If it disagrees with the maker's figure, we correct the listing, not the measurement.
Hilt assembly
Guard without play, pommel properly peened, grip not turning on the tang. A rattling sword goes no further.
Edge and tip
Edge thickness and tip rounding — on training gear that is a safety matter, not a detail.
Scabbard
The blade slides in without fighting and holds by friction at the throat. We check the stitching and fittings too.
Paperwork
A card with the dimensions and weight measured here. Anything that differs from the batch is said in the listing.
